Build and maintenance club

The build and maintenance club evolved out of the original project to build a St Ayles Skiff, in the five years since the club has gone on to build a second St Ayles and two smaller Wemyss skiffs, and has just started work on constructing an inshore sea angling boat for community use.  In addition to building, the club undertakes the maintenance and repair of all of the boats, boards and kayaks within the Water Sports Project.

When we meet & What we do

Days: Tuesday and Thursday

Time: 9am

What do we do: The build and maintenance club meets twice a week and take part in both smaller repairs and larger builds. As you can imagine being part of SWSA means that the club always has a stream of new and sometimes challenging repairs and builds.

How to get involved

Operating from the boat house workshop in Agnew Park, the club is open to all, however, as we work in an operational workshop relevant skills are useful, but by no means necessary within our informative and welcoming environment.

As a group our goal is to keep all members safe from harm, for this reason, it is requested that you have an understanding of workshop health and safety prior to joining us.
